INTRODUCTION

De l’école secondaire jusqu'à l’université on nous a enseigné plusieurs matières comme la grammaire, la traduction, l’histoire, la littérature et ainsi de suite. Mais de tous ces sujets, c’est la littérature qui m’a intéressée la plus, surtout la littérature française alors, étant donne qu’on doit écrit un mémoire pour marquer la fin de  la licence à l’université, j’ai décidé de travailler sur la littérature, spécifiquement la littérature française du 19e siècle en choisissant Le Dernier Jour d’un condamné » de Victor Hugo.

Chaque époque dans la littérature française est marquée  par les thèmes différents exemple, le XVIe siècle marque la Renaissance, le XVIIe siècle est le siècle du classicisme, le défenseur de la règle des trois unités, le XVIIIe sicle est marque’ par la philosophie ou la lumière et cetera.

Alors, cette étude portera sur l’histoire de la littérature du XIXe siècle, le siècle du Romantisme, du Réalisme, du symbolisme et ainsi de suite.
